Private Walking Tours

We can lead you, your friends, and family on a private walking tour of Paris around the following themes:

  • Paris Was a Woman (A History of Women Writers and Artists)
These walks, which take place in Montparnasse, the Luxembourg Garden, and Saint-Germain-des-Prés, focus on female literary, visual, and performing artists of the 20th century who are frequently forgotten in the discourse of recent Paris history.  Among the women discussed during the tours are Gertrude Stein, Josephine Baker, Natalie Barney, Colette, and Simone de Beauvoir.
  • Art museums
Our nationally certified, trilingual guide will take you to the Louvre or the Musée du quai Branly Jacques Chirac.

And our own Monique Y. Wells will take you on a special visit to the Musée d'Orsay that features an overview of several past events during which the museum presented works by contemporary Black artists in juxtaposition with classical European works.  Shows that are discussed during this 90-minute tour include Le Modèle Noir, An Archeology of Science, and Every Time a Knot is Undone A God Is Released.
