It's been five years since Tom and I visited the atelier of Lea Lund and Erik K, the photographer and model whose love story and work are simply magical.  Entrée to Black Paris published an article about that first visit in April 2017: Atelier Lea Lund and Erik K - Open for Business! 

Last Friday evening, in conjunction with this year's Paris Photo conference, Lund and K welcomed friends and colleagues into their whimsical space on the cité Dupont for wine and conversation.

The pandemic hit Lund and K hard, as it did most artists around the world. And yet, it opened opportunities for them to build new relationships and embark on new ventures.  We were excited to learn that they opened a gallery in Arles, France last July and that the Catherine Edelman Gallery (CEG) in Chicago represents them in the U.S.  CEG organized the first solo exhibition of their work in the States in September 2021.

Itinerant gallerist Aude Minart, whose La Galerie Africaine exhibitions we frequently present on the blog and who introduced us to Lund and K, showed their work for the second time at the May 2022 Biennale de Dakar.

The couple was featured in the September 2022 edition of Profifoto and in the Fall 2022 edition of Spots Magazine, the theme of which is "Myth and Memory."
