Tom and I spent Christmas Eve and part of Christmas Day in the Bourgogne town of Joigny, where we joined a couple of friends who have traveled there ten times over the years for a Christmas Eve birthday celebration!
This was our first time visiting the town and we were thrilled to enjoy good weather and lovely views of the town as we walked from the train station to our hotel, La Côte Saint Jacques.

We took a brief stroll through the old town at dusk and got to see the Christmas decorations and a couple of historic sites ...

... before joining our friends for a SUPERB dinner, complete with wine pairings, prepared by Michelin-star chef Jean-Michel Lorain and his team.
We found the town residents to be extremely friendly and the service at the hotel to be flawless!
We hope you had a wonderful Christmas and are looking forward to the New Year.
